Job Description

  • Trading and market-making of MYR rates, bonds, term interest rate instruments and FX spot.

With its global expertise and network, this global bank is ideally positioned to offer innovative and comprehensive solutions to meet the needs of its clients, from large local corporates and multinationals to financial institutions and institutional investors.

As a VP, Global Markets Trader, your key responsibilities will include:

  • price making to the bank's clients both locally and internationally, where applicable and market-making to brokers and inter-bank counterparties to bring trading revenue to the bank.
  • working hand-in-hand with Sales team and FX strategist by providing them with timely market information and developing FX trading strategies in MYR.
  • developing strong networking with both onshore and offshore counterparts to widen the distribution of risk and increased bank's liquidity pool in MYR spot.
  • communicating extensively with traders from other IRFX regional desks for cross-Asian pair , ie. MYR against KRW, TWD as way of providing additional service to the Malaysian client base in order to create a niche for the bank's FX desk.
  • keeping close relationship with local regulators and to ensure constant communication channel is open with them
  • working hand in hand with local ALMT with regards to day to day duties, as well as from time to time act as back up for ALMT
  • addressing the needs of the bank's clients in an open and responsible manner, with the highest standard of compliance, ethics and fairness. Full adherence to all regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • making a direct contribution to the bank's operational permanent control framework including the maintenance of good working relationships and open communication channels with all functions.

To qualify, individuals must possess:

  • PPKM (Persatuan Pasaran Kewangan Malaysia) license to be qualified as an authorised dealer.
  • maintain PPKM licensing as an ERP (Employee Registered Persons) with SC by meeting CPE (Continuing Professional Education) requirements
  • excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and able to manage international stakeholders in a professional manner
