Talent Acquisition Specialist

Job description

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Recruitment Process Management:

    • Manage the full cycle of recruitment for a variety of roles, including initial assessments, interviews, and offers.
    • Work with hiring managers to create and update job descriptions and specifications.
    • Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract high-quality candidates.
  2. Candidate Sourcing:

    • Utilize various channels such as job boards, social media, employee referrals, and networking events to source potential candidates.
    • Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates for current and future job openings.
    • Leverage advanced sourcing techniques including Boolean searches, data mining, and talent mapping.
  3. Screening and Interviewing:

    • Conduct phone and video interviews to assess candidate qualifications and cultural fit.
    • Coordinate and schedule interviews between candidates and hiring managers.
    • Provide feedback and recommendations to hiring managers based on interviews and assessments.
  4. Employer Branding:

    • Promote the company's reputation as a great place to work.
    • Participate in job fairs, career events, and other networking opportunities.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with universities, professional associations, and other talent sources.
  5. Onboarding:

    • Work with HR and hiring managers to ensure a smooth onboarding process for new hires.
    • Facilitate new hire orientation and ensure all necessary documentation is completed.
  6. Data Management and Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate records in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
    • Generate and analyze recruitment metrics to measure effectiveness and inform strategic decisions.
    • Provide regular reports on recruitment activity, candidate pipelines, and hiring progress.
  7. Compliance and Best Practices:

    • Ensure all recruitment activities comply with relevant employment laws and regulations.
    • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in talent acquisition and recommend improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Talent Acquisition Specialist or similar role.
  • Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and HR databases.
  • Strong understanding of recruitment practices, labor laws, and employment equity.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
