Regional Business Development Manager (Renewable Fuels)

About the role
Our client, a global leader in energy and process technology, is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Business Development Manager to lead growth in the renewable fuels and chemicals sector across Southeast Asia. The successful candidate will identify new market opportunities, forge strategic partnerships, and position the company as a key player in the region's clean energy and sustainable manufacturing transition.

Key responsibilities

  • Drive business development initiatives in the renewable fuels and chemicals segment across Southeast Asia.

  • Conduct market research and assess business potential for applications in biofuels, renewable chemicals, and related industries.

  • Build and maintain networks with industry stakeholders including technology licensors, integrators, institutes, and end users.

  • Develop and implement strategies to increase market penetration and brand visibility in the clean energy sector.

  • Represent the company at key industry events, exhibitions, and conferences.

  • Collaborate with regional and global teams to pursue joint initiatives and partnership opportunities.

  • Identify project leads, develop proposals, and support commercial negotiations.

  • Provide regular business forecasts, pipeline updates, and market insights to management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical field; an MBA is an advantage.

  • Minimum 5-8 years' experience in business development or commercial roles within the renewable energy, chemicals, or process industries.

  • Strong understanding of biofuels, renewable chemicals, industrial fermentation, or waste-to-chemicals technologies.

  • Proven ability to develop new business and build strong relationships across complex market ecosystems.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Strategic thinker with commercial acumen and the ability to navigate technical discussions.

  • Fluent in English; proficiency in other Southeast Asian languages is an advantage.

  • Willingness to travel across the region as required.
