Key Responsibilities
Offer timely and accurate legal advice to support business decisions, operational activities, and dispute resolution.
Draft, vet, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal instruments relevant to fund management activities.
Oversee litigation and dispute matters, including liaising with external counsel where required, and report case progress to management.
Act as custodian for original legal documents, ensuring proper safekeeping and secure access.
Provide input on structuring and documenting business transactions and partnerships.
Monitor legal and regulatory developments impacting the fund management industry, ensuring policies and practices remain compliant.
Promote a culture of legal awareness, compliance, and risk management within the team.
Guide and develop team knowledge on laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to investment management and financial products.
Requirements
Minimum of 5-7 years' experience in legal practice, with exposure to corporate/commercial work, litigation, or financial services. Experience in asset management, banking, or related industries will be advantageous.
Strong drafting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Confident, proactive, and results-oriented with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple legal matters concurrently and provide pragmatic solutions.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and Shariah governance in financial services is preferred.
