Head of HR

Job description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute HR strategies that support business goals and long-term growth

  • Set up HR policies, systems, and processes across recruitment, performance management, compensation, learning & development, and employee relations

  • Build and lead the recruitment and onboarding of key talent across departments

  • Ensure legal compliance with Malaysian labor laws and HR best practices

  • Establish and promote a positive, inclusive workplace culture

  • Advise senior leadership on organizational development, workforce planning, and employee engagement

  • Drive initiatives for talent development, retention, and succession planning

  • Manage HR budgets and vendors (e.g., payroll services, benefits providers)

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree or HR certification is an advantage

  • Minimum 8-10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role

  • Strong knowledge of Malaysian labor laws, HR best practices, and organizational development

  • Experience setting up HR functions in a start-up or new company environment is highly desirable

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills

  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach
