About the role
Our client, a leading manufacturer of construction chemicals and building materials, is seeking a motivated and commercially driven Assistant Sales Manager to oversee their waterproofing product line. Based in Malaysia, this role is responsible for driving sales growth, managing key accounts, and expanding the company's market share in the construction and building materials industry. You will play a hands-on role in developing client relationships while supporting the overall sales strategy.
Key responsibilities
Develop and execute sales strategies to drive growth for the waterproofing product portfolio.
Manage and expand relationships with key stakeholders, including contractors, developers, architects, consultants, and distributors.
Identify new project opportunities and secure specifications for waterproofing solutions.
Provide technical and commercial support to clients, ensuring product suitability and performance meet project requirements.
Work closely with internal teams (technical support, operations, marketing) to ensure seamless delivery of solutions and services.
Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and project pipelines to identify growth opportunities.
Deliver accurate sales forecasts, reports, and performance updates to management.
Mentor and support junior sales team members, fostering collaboration and accountability.
About you
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 5 years' proven sales experience in building materials, waterproofing, construction chemicals, or related industries.
Strong track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets within the project sales environment.
Established network with contractors, developers, consultants, or distributors is highly desirable.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Commercially minded, self-driven, and able to manage complex project sales cycles.
Willingness to travel as required for client and project engagement.
