Area Sales Manager - Transformers

About the role

My client is seeking a motivated and results-driven Area Sales Manager to join their team in Malaysia. The company is a global leader in transformer control and high-voltage equipment, providing advanced solutions that ensure reliable and efficient power systems. In this role, you will drive sales growth, build strong customer relationships, and serve as the key contact for technical and commercial support within your territory.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow sales within the assigned territory to achieve business objectives.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, including utilities, OEMs, EPCs, and industrial clients.

  • Identify new business opportunities and drive customer engagement from lead generation to closing.

  • Provide technical and commercial support to customers, ensuring alignment with their project requirements.

  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, including service and technical experts, to deliver value-added solutions.

  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to identify opportunities for growth.

  • Prepare and present sales reports, forecasts, and performance updates to management.

  • Represent the company at industry events, exhibitions, and networking opportunities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Business, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in sales, preferably in the power, transformer, or industrial equipment sector.

  • Strong technical understanding of electrical systems and solutions.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

  • Proficiency in CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Ability to travel within the assigned territory as required.
