Test Equipment Engineer
Job description
Our client in the central region of Malaysia is a global player within the Semiconductor chip-making space. They are now seeking to hire a Test Equipment Engineer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the setup, calibration, and troubleshooting of final test equipment, including testers, handlers, and associated hardware.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance strategies to maximize equipment uptime and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with production and process engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of new equipment and processes into manufacturing workflows.
- Use advanced equipment knowledge to resolve technical issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Apply APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) principles and Design-FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) to assess and mitigate potential risks in equipment and processes.
- Drive improvements in equipment performance by analyzing data, identifying trends, and implementing solutions to prevent recurring issues.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and quality standards.
- Provide training and support to equipment technicians and other staff on proper equipment use, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Participate in the selection, installation, and validation of new equipment to support production scale-up and capacity expansion.
Skills & Experience Required:
- In-depth Power Semiconductor Assembly know-how and experience.
- Strong understanding of final test equipment (testers, handlers) with experience in conducting preventative maintenance and optimizing equipment uptime.
- Familiarity with equipment development procedures such as APQP and Design-FMEA.
- Preventive Management Knowledge with a proven ability to maintain and improve equipment reliability.
- Strong technical background in troubleshooting and maintaining automated test
- systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to managing equipment challenges.
- Previous experience working in the semiconductor industry or a similar high-tech manufacturing environment.
- Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and data-driven decision-making.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail and a focus on continuous improvement.
