Tax - Financial Services experiences required!

About the Role
We are partnering with an established and reputable Financial services client to seek a seasoned tax specialist to lead the end‑to‑end tax function across direct and indirect tax for the organization. You will oversee tax compliance, reporting, optimisation and strategy - working closely with internal stakeholders, external advisors and regional offices to ensure best‑in‑class governance and risk management.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and ensure timely submission of corporate, indirect (SST), transfer pricing and other tax returns under Malaysian regulations.

• Oversee tax reporting (current and deferred tax), assist with monthly/quarterly closing and ensure alignment with group office requirements.

• Develop tax strategies in partnership with finance, business units and external advisors to optimise efficiency while maintaining compliance.

• Stay abreast of changes in tax laws, regulation and rulings, identify risks and opportunities for the business.

• Lead, mentor and collaborate with the tax team and cross‑functional partners to drive process improvements, controls and documentation standards.

Experience & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field. Professional accounting/tax qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, MIA) preferred.

• Minimum 10 years of progressive tax experience within insurance/financial services .

• Demonstrable experience in tax management/leadership, including exposure to insurance/financial services is an advantage.

• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills; able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

• Familiarity with group tax reporting, cross‑border tax issues, transfer pricing and indirect tax (SST) preferred.
