Supplier Quality Engineer

Job description

Our client is a global semiconductor company in Penang that is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and select suppliers based on technical capability and capacity by conducting thorough technical surveys.
  • Collaborate with the commodity group to help develop a commodity strategy.
  • Ensure suppliers comply with quality standards and demonstrate continuous improvement.
  • Timely review and respond to SCB/PCN requests.
  • Regularly audit key suppliers and prepare audit reports.
  • Assist in root cause analysis for customer-related quality issues.
  • Train new suppliers on business processes and requirements.
  • Prepare and attend Supplier Business Reviews (SBR) focused on quality.
  • Regularly review FMEA and Supplier Process Management Plans to ensure improvement and process control.
  • Analyze annual quality data and provide Quality Improvement Plans.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 3 years in the PCB/PCBA industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in electronic, electrical, mechanical engineering, or science.
  • Experience in manufacturing and quality control processes.
  • Proficiency in quality tools (e.g., SPC, FMEA, 8D); Six Sigma certification preferred.
  • Familiarity with ISO standards and auditing suppliers.
  • Strong communication skills in English and Mandarin.
  • Team-oriented with multitasking abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications.
  • Ability to interpret PCB drawings and understand IPC 600, 610 standards.
  • Willingness to travel.
