Senior Facilities Manager

An established global facilities management service provider is looking for a Senior Facilities Manager to lead the operations and facilities maintenance of a data centre. This position reports to the Regional Head of Operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintaining sufficient and safe physical office space with conducive and healthy working environment to staff and its clients
• Managing and ensuring that the condition and safety of office premises are in compliance with relevant regulatory and group policies and procedures e.g., Health and Safety policies including conducting emergency evacuation exercise and incident management.
• Management of the overall operation, maintenance, and oversee modification of all critical environment systems including: Mechanical (including ACMV, computer room air conditioners, chillers, and hydraulic system), Electrical (including HT switchgear, UPS, DC battery systems, PDU and HT generators and transfer switches), fire detection and suppression, lighting, building management systems, and detection systems (including fire alarm, duress)
• Strategizing, formulating, developing, and driving key strategic business initiatives, service insight contribution and standardization of operations, policies, guidelines and design related to the properties
• Performing as a subject matter expert in one or more areas - critical electrical/mechanicals systems, infrastructure, and operational practices and must ensure the highest level of professionalism, while meeting the customer's needs, and a commitment to achieving the goal of 100% uptime
• Responsible for protecting and improving the value of our assets and ensuring the critical engineering systems reliably perform their intended function. Position requires hands-on operations knowledge on the critical facility systems and equipment especially during system troubleshooting
• Maintaining and safeguarding the physical assets and services including identifying potential causes of accident loss, recommending, and implementing preventive measures, devising plans to minimize costs and damage for effective cost management control and containment
• Develop routine annual maintenance plans and capital plans which would include planning for infra-structure upgrades, equipment replacements and building modifications to ensure the building's future capabilities are maintained

Key Requirements:

• Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related field of study
• Minimum fifteen years of facilities management experience, especially within data centres
• Eight years of experience in a leadership capacity and managing a team of engineers and technicians
• Strong technical knowledge with hands-on knowledge/experience and understanding of risk management and critical systems operations, including HVAC, Standby emergency power, uninterruptible power supplies, and associated infrastructure
• Good knowledge of local laws that govern facility engineering equipment operation and maintenance, including safety and environment protection
• Good problem-solving and crisis management skill obtained through years of experience in troubleshooting building maintenance and management problems, and handling crisis situations
• Clear thinking with strong analytical abilities with attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Have a good grasp of process efficiency methodology and a good eye in cost management
• Team player, able to meet tight deadlines with ability to organize and prioritise
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fluent in both speaking and writing English
• High ethical standards and able to convey professionalism and leadership to users of the office facilities
• Passion for efficiency and effectiveness
