Senior Accountant

As our global business continues to experience excellent growth, we are looking a Senior Accountant support our Australia business to focus on all round account duties including daily banking and weekly bank reconciliations, purchase ledger and management accounts preparation and reviewing.

The Role
This person will work closely with the finance team and other non-financial departments, specifically the sales teams, and as such must be an enthusiastic team orientated individual, committed to providing the best possible service to both internal and external stakeholders in accordance with the company's PRIDE values. This person will have a proven level of understanding of the different aspects of finance within a commercial environment and a passion to deliver excellence to Ambition.


Key Responsibilities

  • Handle full set of accounts, ensure financial records are accurate and organized, preparation of Monthly / Yearly Management Reports (including schedules, reconciliation and reports) on a timely manner for stakeholder's meeting, financial audit and tax queries.
  • Reporting of cash balance and commitments on timely basis.
  • Review and posting of purchase invoices.
  • Reconciliation of balance sheets on a timely basis. Investigate all queries.
  • Preparation of Business and Instalment Activity Statements (BAS), GST/ SST returns for submission.
  • Review work done of AU finance team to ensure consistency in accounting practices, provide guidance on financial reporting and operational matters.
  • Liaison with finance and non-financial departments, run ad hoc management information reports.



What You Bring

  • A degree in Accounting/Accountancy or CPA/ACCA qualification, demonstrating a strong foundation in financial principles.
  • A professional outlook and a good attention to detail are essential for this role. The successful candidate will also be inquisitive, proactively questioning current practice and trying to find better ways of working.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience of working within a finance department in a commercial environment.
  • A team worker, the successful candidate will work closely with all areas of the business and as such must be able to build effective professional relationships.
  • Fluency in English, facilitating effective communication across diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Proactive, enthusiastic and able to work without direct supervision
  • Proven track record leading projects with internal/external stakeholders (planning and executing).
  • Proactive, organized and delivers on deadlines.
  • Exceptional excel skills (PowerBi would be great) with an understanding of AI, Systems, automation, process and PowerBi.
  • Able highlight issues/gaps and proactively suggest solutions within finance and other functions of the business
  • Extremely confident in partnering (all levels of the business) and resolving issues/communicating in English.
