About the Role
My client is a global provider of engineered solutions for civil engineering, infrastructure and environmental applications. Our products and systems are widely used across transportation, marine, geotechnical, erosion control and structural applications, supporting complex projects in both public and private sectors.
We are looking for a Sales Engineer to manage and grow sales activities across the East Coast of Malaysia, supporting the full sales cycle from opportunity identification through to closing and post-sales support.
This role combines technical knowledge with commercial execution, working closely with customers and internal teams to deliver effective solutions while building long-term client relationships within the construction and infrastructure ecosystem.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve assigned sales targets and objectives
Identify and pursue new business opportunities through customer engagement, tenders, industry publications and online platforms
Arrange and deliver customer presentations to build awareness of products and solutions
Prepare quotations, follow up with customers and coordinate internally to meet customer requirements
Monitor competitor activity including pricing, products, promotions and distribution channels
Maintain strong relationships with existing customers and develop new accounts including consultants, contractors, developers, trading companies and local authorities
Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support, including site visits, installation guidance, commissioning and basic project supervision
Travel to customer sites to resolve technical issues and provide product or application guidance
Handle and resolve customer complaints in a professional and timely manner
Propose and update management on customer credit facilities
Assist in monitoring the status and utilisation of approved credit limits
Support additional duties or assignments as required by management

Requirements
Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering (Geotechnical), Business or a related discipline
Minimum 5 years' experience in a sales or commercial role; exposure to the construction or infrastructure industry is an advantage
Strong ability to identify and develop business opportunities through multiple channels
Good verbal and written communication skills; additional languages or dialects are an advantage
Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing demands
Self-motivated, resourceful and able to work independently in a field-based, target-driven environment
