Job description

My client is a well-renowned industrial main contractor with projects both locally and internationally. They are looking for a Project Scheduler due to rapid expansion. This job will hold a permanent title.

Position Summary: As a Project Scheduler for our industrial main contracting firm, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating and optimizing project schedules to ensure timely completion and efficient resource allocation. You will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to develop, monitor, and update project schedules throughout the construction lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Schedule Development:

    • Work closely with project managers and engineers to develop comprehensive project schedules, incorporating all relevant tasks, milestones, and dependencies.
    • Utilize project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project) to create detailed Gantt charts and project timelines.
    • Analyze project scope, requirements, and constraints to develop realistic and achievable schedules.
  2. Resource Allocation:

    • Coordinate with project teams to identify resource requirements for each project phase.
    • Allocate manpower, equipment, and materials efficiently to meet project deadlines.
    • Anticipate resource conflicts and collaborate with stakeholders to resolve scheduling issues.
  3. Schedule Monitoring and Control:

    • Regularly monitor project progress against established schedules, identifying deviations and potential delays.
    • Conduct schedule analysis to assess critical path, resource utilization, and project risks.
    • Implement corrective actions and adjustments to mitigate schedule variances and ensure adherence to project timelines.
  4. Communication and Collaboration:

    • Facilitate regular meetings with project teams to review schedule updates, discuss progress, and address challenges.
    • Communicate schedule status, forecasts, and performance metrics to project stakeholders, including senior management, clients, and subcontractors.
    • Collaborate with project managers to develop alternative scheduling scenarios and contingency plans as needed.
  5. Documentation and Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate records of project schedules, revisions, and change orders.
    • Prepare comprehensive schedule reports, including progress reports, variance analysis, and forecasted completion dates.
    • Assist in the preparation of project documentation, such as contract schedules, milestone charts, and project timelines.
  6. Continuous Improvement:

    • Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging technologies, and scheduling methodologies.
    • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains in project scheduling and execution.
    • Participate in post-project reviews to evaluate schedule performance and identify lessons learned for future projects.


  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or related field.
  • 5-7 years of proven experience in project scheduling within the industrial/ commercial/ residential construction sector.
  • Proficiency in project management software, such as Primavera P6.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
