Production Planning Manager

Job description

We are partnering with a global electronics manufacturing company to identify a Planning Manager to lead and establish the planning function at their manufacturing facility.

This role will be responsible for building and managing the production planning, demand planning, and material planning functions, ensuring alignment between customer demand, production capacity, and material availability to support business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and lead the planning department, including production planning, demand planning, and material planning functions.
  • Develop and manage the Master Production Schedule (MPS) to ensure efficient production flow.
  • Oversee demand forecasting and forecast management in collaboration with Sales, Program Management, and customers.
  • Ensure timely material availability while optimizing inventory levels across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
  • Coordinate closely with Procurement, Production, Warehouse, and Customer Service teams to ensure supply chain alignment.
  • Monitor and report key planning KPIs including forecast accuracy, inventory turnover, on-time delivery, and production plan adherence.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in planning systems, processes, and operational efficiency.
  • Manage and optimize ERP/MRP planning systems (SAP preferred).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in manufacturing planning, preferably within EMS, electronics, or semiconductor environments.
  • At least 3-5 years in a leadership capacity managing planning teams.
  • Strong experience in production planning, demand planning, and inventory management.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP preferred).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional coordination skills.
