Product Engineering Manager

This rapidly expanding Multinational Semiconductor equipment company in Penang is seeking a Senior Product Engineering Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Product Engineering team, ensuring skills development and creating self-sustaining team.
  • Develop strategy, review results, and structure team, including training.
  • Meet quality, cost, and delivery goals for products, achieving yield targets.
  • Provide support for new products, including technical assistance.
  • Oversee cross-functional team to meet quality, cost, and delivery targets, and achieve yield goals.
  • Coordinate new product releases and changes.
  • Analyze test data for yield improvements and reliability.
  • Manage risk assessments, address quality issues, and implement corrective actions.
  • Coach and train engineers, collaborate on product design, and apply Design FMEA.
  • Generate reports to reduce variation and adhere to organizational standards.
  • Perform additional assigned tasks as needed.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. (Master's degree preferred)
  • Team player adept at sharing technical knowledge.
  • Skilled in test data analysis and resolving product issues.
  • Familiar with semiconductor processing.
  • Strong communicator with leadership experience.
  • Effective in leading technical discussions and problem-solving.
  • Proficient in improving employee performance based on observations.
  • Proactive in addressing disciplinary matters.
  • Experienced in clear and compelling presentations.
  • Knowledgeable in performance appraisals and relevant regulations.
  • Essential:
    • 5 to 10 years of product engineering experience in the semiconductor equipment industry.
    • Experience in a high mix/low volume manufacturing and product manufacturing environment is preferred.
    • Previous supervisory experience in NPI/Manufacturing Engineering/Operations Management is required.
  • Desirable:
    • Experience in effectively managing cross-functional teams.
    • Background in the SMT related industry.
    • Familiarity with SAP ERP or similar systems.
    • Knowledge of 6 Sigma management principles.
