Product Development Engineer (Semiconductor)

This global Semiconductor manufacturer in Malacca is seeking a Product Development Engineer to join their team due to expansion.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with relevant teams regarding the designing and development of optimized packaging solutions that meet all customer quality, reliability, and performance specifications while maintaining design for manufacturability in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Ensure early success in package development with modeling and simulation during design and prototyping phases of the development process.
• Oversee evaluation and development of new packaging materials and processes.
• Manage qualification of new packages or changes to ensure quality and mitigate risk.
• Initiate and follow up on assembly build instructions for all engineering builds.
• Assist with global cost reduction, standardization, and new system implementation projects.
• Develop new package requirements and maintaining quality of existing packages.
• Define package requirements for product groups and customer requirements.
• Develop new package and process qualification programs.
• Perform integrity analysis of packages utilizing appropriate tools.
• Perform package characterizations including cost effectiveness studies.
• Act as a liaison with vendors as a subject matter expert.
• Maintain product quality while developing and introducing package cost reduction programs.
• Coordinate the introduction of new package processes into production.

Skills & Experience Required:

• Bachelor / Master Degree in Engineering (Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical) or Physics.
• Minimum 3 - 5 years relevant experience in semiconductor field.
• Experience in semiconductor package design, advance packaging experience, and Assembly process is preferred.
• Experience with AutoCAD (2D or 3D) is desirable.
