Plant Manager

Job description

Our client is a FMCG Multinational Manufacturer in Selangor. They are seeking a Factory Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategically plan, organize, and oversee day-to-day operations to surpass customer expectations, maintain high food safety standards, increase production, optimize asset capacity and flexibility, minimize costs, and uphold quality standards.
  • Work closely with the Supply Chain Team to execute manufacturing schedules based on sales requirements and plant capacity, ensuring alignment with the plant's total quality program in collaboration with the Quality Team.
  • Supervise the maintenance of buildings, facilities, equipment, and plant security to optimize functionality, efficiently managing and allocating resources within the maintenance budget.
  • Evaluate all recommendations for special machinery, collaborating closely with the engineering team to drive improvements in projects and processes, facilitating the launch of new products.
  • Implement strategies aligned with the company's broader strategic goals, providing clear direction and focus, closely monitoring operations, and initiating corrective actions promptly when necessary.
  • Provide leadership and foster a trusting relationship with the workgroup, overseeing recruitment, management, and development of plant staff, effectively addressing any employee issues or grievances.
  • Analyze data to identify areas of waste or inefficiency, implementing improvement strategies while adhering to plant safety procedures.
  • Develop and implement systems and processes to track and optimize productivity, standards, metrics, and performance targets, ensuring maximum return on assets.
  • Ensure full compliance with governmental regulations, including FSSC22000, OSHA, DOE standards, and other requirements, maintaining strict adherence.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in machinery engineering, production management, and maintenance, including concepts of predictive and preventive maintenance.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Work Experience: Minimum of 15 years of experience in a related field.
  • Proficient in developing and leading strategic initiatives.
  • In-depth understanding of technology complexities, product intricacies, and associated costs.
  • Demonstrates robust leadership, particularly in facilitating successful change.
  • Exhibits strong business judgment with effective problem-solving skills.
  • Skilled in financial analysis and strategic resource allocation, with a preference for creating productivity pipelines.
  • Proven track record of achieving results through managing salaried employees and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English, Malay, and Mandarin to facilitate effective communication in a diverse work environment. Candidates fluent in Mandarin are preferred due to interaction with Mandarin-speaking clients.
  • Strong proficiency in computer skills.
