NPI Engineering Manager

Our client is a rapidly expanding Multinational Semiconductor company in Penang. They aree seeking a NPI Engineering Manager due to rapid expansion.


Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise a team of professional individual contributors responsible for Configuration Management, Drafting, and PPS (PCBA Documentation), potentially spread across different sites and countries.
• Develop strategic plans and KPIs to enhance departmental performance in support of New Product Development programs.
• Lead departmental and cross-functional initiatives to innovate and continually improve processes.
• Implement configuration management procedures for new products, ensuring readiness for manufacturing.
• Coach, mentor, and develop employees, honing skill sets as needed to support future growth in larger or more complex NPI projects.
• Manage resource allocation and utilization, navigating the product prioritization process to ensure readiness for new projects before they become active.
• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for relevant departmental systems and processes (ECO process, Documentation release & control, etc.).
• Adhere to organizational standards for quality management, health and safety, code of conduct, legal requirements, environmental policies, and general duty of care.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills & Experience Required:

• Requires 5-10 years of pertinent experience in project management or the development of new products, preferably within Operations or Manufacturing contexts.
• Direct familiarity with Engineering Change Order processes, Document Control, and/or Drafting is beneficial.
• Demonstrates strong critical thinking skills and proficiency in managing risks and issues.
• Able to create and oversee a highly efficient system of metrics.
• Adaptable to achieving success in a dynamic and ever-evolving environment.
• Skilled in developing individuals and teams, open to seeking input from others and fostering consensus when needed, while maintaining a professional demeanor.
• Effective in communicating with executive management and clients.
• Self-driven, proactive, and consistently displays an enthusiastic, confident, and positive demeanor.
• Preferred to have a Master of Science degree.
• Completion of electrical safety training (additional company safety courses may be
• necessary).
• Holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology Management, or a closely related field, or equivalent education.
• Works autonomously with minimal supervision, potentially under the guidance of a supervisor in a different geographical area.
• Functions within a standard office environment and utilizes typical office equipment.
• May require occasional international travel (<10%).
• Proficient in critical thinking and skilled in risk and issue management.
• Capable of developing and overseeing a highly efficient set of metrics.
• Highly adaptable to achieving success in a constantly changing environment.
• Experienced in developing individuals and teams, open to consulting others' opinions and reaching agreements as needed, always maintaining a professional demeanor.
• Effective communication skills with executive management and customers.
• Self-motivated, proactive, demonstrating an enthusiastic, confident, and positive approach
