Market Data & Trade Support Engineer

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide proactive, timely, and efficient support to applications within the bank's system.
• Offer 24x7 on-call support during business hours and respond to user queries, production issues, events, incidents, and problem management.
• Investigate production issues, adhering to severity SLAs for defect responses.
• Manage and respond to user inquiries promptly, logging incident tickets as necessary.
• Ensure incident and defect closures meet established KPIs.
• Maintain system availability per agreed SLAs and execute daily end-of-day tasks for supported applications.
• Conduct annual Disaster Recovery exercises for supported applications.
• Assist System Engineers with server-level patches or upgrades.
• Maintain updated documentation for application incidents and tasks with each production release.
• Demonstrate enthusiasm, proactive problem-solving, and goal-oriented behavior, with excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Work under tight time constraints to resolve production incidents and provide workarounds using Java, Unix shell, or DB scripts.
• Proactively identify potential risks in the production environment and escalate them to the development team or users.

Job Qualification

• 5-7 years of hands-on application support experience in the banking industry.
• Independent, proactive, and self-starting mindset with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Willingness to work on a 24x7 on-call support roster.

General Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in SQL, MS Windows, Unix/Linux, Oracle, Microsoft IIS, MS SQL Server, Java, Control-M, and scripting languages.

Technical Skills (Desirable):

• Knowledge of real-time data feeds like Bloomberg or Reuters.
• Familiarity with Murex datamart, MLC, MxML.

Good to Have:

• Understanding of ITIL 4 methodology.
