Maintenance Engineer

Job description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee plant operations to ensure achievement of company KPIs, objectives, and targets.

  • Lead quality assurance and control programs, ensuring adherence to SOPs, regulatory standards, HACCP, ISO, FSSC, and hygiene requirements.

  • Manage UHT processing, aseptic filling and packing, and ensure equipment efficiency through effective implementation of Autonomous Maintenance (AM), Preventive Maintenance (PM), and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives through root cause analysis, preventive measures, and staff involvement in activities like Kaizen, 5S, QCC, and ICC.

  • Plan and coordinate production, maintenance, and utility operations for optimal capacity usage, cost control, and safe execution.

  • Ensure proper usage and inventory of materials, spare parts, tools, and equipment.

  • Enforce workplace safety and environmental compliance by implementing SHE standards, maintaining updated HIRADC, and ensuring ISO 14001 adherence, including waste and effluent management.

  • Conduct on-the-job training and organize competency development programs aligned with GMP and HACCP requirements.

  • Manage shift schedules and manpower allocation efficiently, monitor attendance, and control overtime to ensure smooth operations.

  • Troubleshoot equipment and operational issues promptly and coordinate with relevant teams to minimize downtime.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for quality checks, maintenance activities, and manpower utilization.

Key Requirements:

  • Degree or diploma in Engineering, Food Technology, or a related field.

  • Practical experience in plant operations, preferably in the food or beverage industry, with exposure to aseptic processing and UHT systems.

  • Strong understanding of maintenance strategies (TPM, AM, PM), production KPIs, and quality systems like QMS, HACCP, and ISO standards.

  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage teams, allocate manpower, and foster continuous improvement culture.

  • Analytical ability to identify issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement effective corrective actions.

  • Competency in planning production activities, managing resources, and maintaining cost-effective operations.

  • Knowledge of safety, health, and environmental regulations and procedures, including risk assessments and ISO 14001 compliance.

  • Good communication skills for reporting, documentation, and cross-department collaboration.

  • Flexibility to support various tasks and adapt to operational changes as needed.
