Linux Engineer

Job Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and support Linux-based infrastructure within agile, cross-functional teams.

  • Develop and maintain digital infrastructure strategies, ensuring stability, scalability, and performance.

  • Manage full lifecycle of systems, products, and services, focusing on continuous improvement and automation.

  • Monitor and maintain system performance, security, and compliance with internal and external standards.

  • Support CI/CD pipelines and automation using tools like Ansible, Git, Jenkins, and scripting languages.

  • Manage virtual environments, cloud platforms (Azure, GCP), and container platforms (OpenShift basics).

  • Deliver 2nd/3rd level support, documentation, and regular system updates.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to analyze needs, solve problems, and align with regulatory and audit requirements.

  • Engage in quality assurance, risk management, and knowledge sharing across teams.

  • Perform server migrations, security patching, and incident handling aligned with SRE and DevOps practices.

Job Requirements

  • Education & Experience:

    • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

    • 5+ years in Linux system engineering and IT operations with system ownership.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Strong Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) knowledge; RHCSA-level expected.

    • Familiar with virtualization (VMware), cloud (Azure, GCP), and container basics (OpenShift).

    • Proficient in automation using Ansible, Puppet, SALT, or similar.

    • Skilled in scripting (Python, Bash), templating (Jinja2), and working with APIs (Red Hat Satellite, cloud vendors).

    • Experienced in CI/CD tools (TeamCity, Jenkins), version control (Git), and release management.

    • Good grasp of Infrastructure-as-Code, service management, and IT security practices (SIEM, PAM, patching).

  • Soft Skills:

    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills.

    • High adaptability, ownership, and productivity.

    • Strong communication and collaboration mindset.

    • Fast learner with a proactive, service-oriented attitude.
