Linux Administrator

Job description

Job Responsibilities

  • Administer, maintain, and support RHEL-based infrastructure in production environments.

  • Perform system monitoring, performance optimization, and troubleshooting of Linux systems.

  • Manage disaster recovery planning, security hardening, and compliance with regulatory standards.

  • Execute system changes, releases, and updates while ensuring documentation accuracy.

  • Provide 2nd and 3rd level technical support and respond to incidents and vulnerabilities.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance infrastructure processes and architecture.

  • Participate in on-call support and handle urgent production issues, including after-hours.

  • Assist with server deployments, migrations, patch management, and automation tasks.

  • Work closely with internal customers, providing consulting and support for related services.

  • Ensure stable operations of middleware components, security tools, and monitoring systems.


Job Requirements

  • Education & Experience:

    • University degree or equivalent professional experience in IT.

    • 5+ years of Linux system administration experience, preferably in enterprise environments.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Strong Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) skills; RHCA-level knowledge preferred.

    • Experience with virtualization (VMware) and cloud platforms (Azure, GCP, Google BMS).

    • Proficient in automation tools like Ansible, Puppet, SALT, and scripting (Python, Shell).

    • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, TeamCity), Git, and vendor APIs (Red Hat, Azure, GCP).

    • Basic OpenShift administration and middleware (e.g., Tivoli, Nessus, Backup tools).

    • Strong knowledge of IT security tools and practices (SIEM, PAM, patching, MS Defender).

    • Experience with server migration, OS monitoring, and automation scripting.

  • Soft Skills:

    • Agile and collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills.

    • Able to work autonomously across multiple teams or clusters.

    • High adaptability, accountability, and continuous improvement mindset.
