Legal and Contracts Specialist (Contract convertible to perm)

Job description


We are looking for someone to join the Ambition team based in our Kuala Lumpur Office on a maternity cover basis with the potential of a conversion to perm.

You will be reporting to the Regional Legal and Contracts Manager (Asia Pacific) and be in charge of the following:
Job Responsibilities:

  • Good understanding of commercial contracting risks and issues and commercial contracting terms and conditions.
  • Review commercial contracts, tenders and highlight risks and issues to stakeholders
  • Provide advice and guidance to stakeholders relating to agreement terms, present alternatives with solutions
  • Prepare, review and prepare amendments to company terms of business and client T&Cs
  • Serve as singular point of contact for matters relating to contracts
  • Maintain correspondence records and documentation relating to contracts and tenders
  • Communicate and share information to stakeholders on all contract-related matters including newly on-boarded clients, termination etc
  • Monitor contracts and follow up on close out, extension or renewal terms
  • Where necessary liaise with external legal providers and insurance providers on more complex queries
  • Support marketing team and consultants on proposal decks, presentation / pitch
  • Drive / facilitate regional client account initiatives and identification of opportunities for growth within existing accounts
  • Company regulatory and reporting management
  • Review of current practices and procedures to ensure optimum productivity
  • General & adhoc support to MDs as required.


Job Requirements:

  • Degree in Law or related function
  • Comes with more than 1 year of commercial experience in a similar capacity
  • Good exposure in corporate legal, consulting roles with knowledge in commercial agreements
  • Comfortable in a contract role with potential to be converted to perm for good performers
