Lead DevOps Engineer

Job description

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Automate SDLC practices by automating the development, testing, and integration of software releases
  • Develop and maintain cloud solutions in accordance with best practices
  • Enhance and improve operational efficiencies via scripting, bots and integrations
  • Ensure efficient functioning of data storage and processing functions in accordance with company security policies and best practices in cloud security
  • Collaborate with engineering and development teams to evaluate and identify optimal cloud solutions
  • Educate teams on the implementation of new cloud technologies and initiatives
  • Maintain day-to-day operations and documentation of production infrastructure
  • Identify, analyse, and resolve infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues


Candidate Profile:

  • 5+ years of experience in programming & debugging using one or more languages, especially Node.js based frameworks
  • Experience with continuous integration and building continuous delivery pipelines with industry-standard tools (make, ant, maven, bamboo)
  • Proven understanding and/or experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, Firebase
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code technologies (eg., Puppet, Chef, Ansible) or similar tools
  • Experience with container technologies such as Kubernetes/Mesos/Docker Swarm
  • Solid understanding or experience with unix operating systems
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with internal and external teams and clients
  • Significant hands-on knowledge of code config and project management tools (GitHub, GitLab, Atlassian)
  • Knowledge/experience in software engineering standard methodologies (i.e. OOD, modularity, extensibility, reusability and maintainability)
