HSE Manager

Job description

An established global facilities management service provider is looking for a HSE Manager to direct and coordinate all health & safety initiatives for data centres. This position reports to the Regional Head of Operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand, implement, and execute environmental, health and safety controls and programs and work processes such as risk identification and assessment, emergency action planning and incident management, agency inspections and audit and internal inspections to ensure they work as intended
  • Providing leadership and adherence to Safety, Business Ethics and Internal Controls.
  • Establishing EHS annual plans and budgets and provide input to goal/ objective setting and support implementation of EHS goals/ targets and objectives.
  • Liaison with Field Operation Managers for the implementation of the World-Wide Job Site Safety Standards at all job sites.
  • Establishing framework for the EHS & Quality program, and actively engage with the Line Management in developing, implementing and sustaining the program.
  • Conducting Annual Safety & Environment Assurance Review for the company and recommend actions for mitigation and improvement.
  • Conducting incident/accident investigations and identify root causes and implement preventative/corrective actions.
  • Preparing monthly EHS report, incident/accident report as well as other EHS & Quality related report for submission to the local and regional management
  • Reviewing current and proposed legislation and ensure compliance with legal and other requirements by integrating requirements into procedures
  • Establishing, reviewing and revising EHS & Quality related policies and procedures as necessary for implementation by local management
  • Recommending disciplinary action on observations from site EHS audits & inspections
  • To analyse and verify effective closure of corrective actions on EHS deficiencies identified/ issued during audits or inspections by the field operation
  • Ensuring effective communication in EHS & Quality information to the relevant parties

Key Requirements:

  • Tertiary education in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental, Engineering or relevant discipline
  • At least eight years' experience in EHS roles, preferably within the data centre environment
  • Possessing relevant HSE competency certificates certified by DOSH
  • Knowledgeable with the ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards
  • Must have a strong balance between strategic and operational HSE practices to be able to understand, appreciate and deliver best solutions for the company
  • Possesses knowledge in safety laws, regulations, codes and best management practices
  • Prior experience liaising with related authorities, such as DOSH, DOE, BOMBA, etc.
  • Excellent understanding of business operations and procedures as well as understanding of market research and data analysis in relation to HSE
  • Demonstratable strategic thinking abilities, strong organizational, planning and leadership skills with problem-solving aptitude
  • Possess knowledge in Safety laws, regulations, codes, and best management practices
  • Open to direction and collaborative work style and commitment to get the job done
  • Able to multi-task, team player, good leader and motivator
  • Displays innovative approach to work
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
