Head of Broking (Insurance)
Job description
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development & Strategy
- Develop and execute a strategic business development plan to grow the Employee Benefits and Corporate Insurance portfolio.
- Identify new market opportunities and lead initiatives to expand client base across industries.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to design and deliver tailored insurance solutions.
Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key corporate clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and retention.
- Act as a trusted advisor, providing insights on market trends, regulatory changes, and risk management strategies.
- Lead client presentations, negotiations, and renewal discussions.
Broking & Placement
- Oversee broking activities, ensuring optimal placement of insurance programs with key stakeholders.
- Maintain strong relationships with insurance partners to secure competitive terms and innovative solutions.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal governance standards.
Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor a team of brokers and business development professionals.
- Foster a high-performance culture focused on client excellence and continuous improvement.
- Drive training and development initiatives to enhance team capabilities.
Requirements:
- Proven experience (8+ years) in broking, business development, or client management within the insurance industry, with a focus on Employee Benefits or Corporate Insurance.
- Strong understanding of insurance products including Group Medical, Life, Disability, and Corporate Risk solutions.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strategic thinker with a commercial mindset and ability to lead complex client engagements.
- Leadership experience with a track record of building and managing high-performing teams.
- Proficiency in Mandarin (spoken and written) is required to effectively engage with Mandarin-speaking clients and stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or related field.
- Professional certifications are an advantage.
- Familiarity with regional insurance markets and regulatory frameworks.
