General Manager

Job description

This electronics manufacturer in Johor is seeking a General Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set forth budgetary objectives, encompassing areas such as productivity, staffing, and quality.
  • Oversee daily manufacturing operations with the aim of meeting and surpassing the predetermined budgetary targets.
  • Provide leadership within the relevant department of the organization.
  • Convey and embody the company's vision and core values.
  • Keep a close eye on operational expenses, production schedules, inventory levels, and production equipment to ensure optimal company efficiency.
  • Allocate human resources, materials, and equipment in accordance with company targets.
  • Evaluate both internal and external circumstances and potential issues, assessing their impacts and taking timely, appropriate actions.
  • Foster a work environment that stimulates employees to generate and implement creative ideas for departmental and divisional improvements.
  • Establish and uphold policies and performance standards.
  • Evaluate employee performance and, when necessary, offer additional coaching and support.
  • Assess the performance of departments and the company as a whole and develop plans for enhancement.
  • Allocate budget resources for supplies, equipment, and personnel.
  • Contribute to the company's growth by recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and mentoring new talent.

Skills & Experience required:

  • A minimum of 15-20 years of experience in the electronic components field, holding a Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline.
  • The ability to significantly enhance operational metrics, including increasing turnover, improving out-of-box quality, ensuring on-time delivery, and reducing cycle time, costs, and inventory.
  • A strong drive and self-motivation to achieve established targets.
  • Preferably, prior managerial experience.
  • Effective communication skills, demonstrated through active listening with both superiors and subordinates, as well as strong written communication abilities.
  • Display leadership qualities by seeking out opportunities for continuous education to foster a growth mindset.
  • Proficiency in delegation, identifying the most suitable individuals for specific tasks and facilitating and motivating their work.
  • Exceptional time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines and streamline processes for maximum productivity.
  • Proficiency in negotiation and mediation to efficiently resolve conflicts.
  • Strong decision-making skills, weighing the costs and benefits of various options to determine the best course of action to achieve company objectives.
  • Effective problem-solving abilities, analyzing past and current performance and proposing objectives to enhance productivity and profitability.
