Oversee facility operations with a focus on reducing equipment downtime, optimizing maintenance schedules, and executing facility improvement projects. Manage budgets and implement cost-saving initiatives related to infrastructure, utilities, and equipment.
Ensure compliance with workplace safety standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies. Handle certifications, permits (e.g., DOSH, fire safety), and oversee regular audits. Maintain environmental controls, waste disposal practices, and ensure cleanroom and air handling systems meet industry standards.
Coordinate facility readiness for production, including qualification and commissioning of new or modified equipment. Supervise the upkeep and operational integrity of all physical assets, ensuring optimal usage and adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Lead a maintenance team, conduct performance reviews, set targets, and identify training needs. Support recruitment and ensure compliance with HR and industrial relations policies. Maintain all documentation related to operational procedures and quality assurance systems.
Exercise authority in health and safety matters, respond to non-compliance issues, liaise with regulatory bodies, and manage the handling of scheduled waste and safety systems. Carry out other tasks or projects as assigned by senior leadership.
Key Requirements:
Degree in Engineering or a related technical field
3-5 years of management-level experience in facilities or maintenance
Experience in regulated manufacturing environments (preferably ISO 13485, FDA 21 CFR Part 820, GMP)
Strong knowledge of safety, compliance, maintenance systems, and budgetary control
Able to work independently with strong planning, organizational, and communication skills
Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia
Proficient in using standard computer systems and tools
