About the Role

My client is a specialist engineering solutions provider focused on helping heavy industries reduce energy loss, improve process reliability, and lower carbon emissions through advanced insulation and heat-management technologies.

We are looking for a Senior Technical Sales Engineer who can combine strong engineering fundamentals with commercial acumen. This is a field-based role, working closely with industrial clients to identify opportunities where smarter insulation systems, materials and engineering solutions deliver measurable operational and sustainability outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and grow long-term relationships with industrial clients across oil & gas, petrochemical, marine and power sectors
  • Identify, develop and close new business opportunities for insulation, heat-shielding and energy-efficiency solutions
  • Prepare and present technical and commercial proposals, tenders and presentations tailored to client requirements
  • Work closely with engineering and operations teams to translate customer challenges into practical, engineered solutions
  • Conduct site visits, thermal surveys and solution demonstrations to support opportunity development
  • Manage sales documentation including quotations, tenders and contract negotiations
  • Represent the business at industry exhibitions, trade shows and networking events

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Marine or related Engineering discipline
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in technical sales, business development or project-related roles within oil & gas or heavy industrial environments
  • Strong technical foundation, preferably with exposure to insulation systems, high-temperature materials or process equipment (e.g. vessels, heat exchangers, turbines)
  • Proven ability to translate complex technical challenges into clear commercial value propositions
  • Strong communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills
  • Willingness to travel within Malaysia and regionally to industrial sites and yards
  • Valid driving licence and passport
