Job description

A renowned public listed property and construction company is looking for a high-calibre COO to lead and orchestrate the strategic growth and operational excellence of its diverse portfolio of projects. This position reports directly to the CEO.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans, policies, processes to ensure that the operations meet the financial budgets
  • Oversee the planning, implementation, and tracking of specific short-term and long-term projects
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope, and within budget
  • Ensure all legal and regulatory documents are filed and monitor compliance with laws and regulations
  • Evaluate performance by analysing and interpreting data and metrics
  • Monitor the capital structure to plan for future operations plan
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, and investors
  • Company's representative for all press and public relations related matters
  • Drive the management of business development activities to grow in existing markets and to expand into new market segments by introducing new products
  • Measure and monitor actual sales versus sales plan and sales targets to drive appropriate action plans
  • Oversee the development of the organisation structure, establish systems to review executive performance and ensure the availability of adequate training & development systems
  • Lead and manage operations, finance, sales, quality, administration and human resources departments to ensure that these functions are fully integrated and consistent with the overall business plan
  • Establish policies that promote company culture and vision

Key Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering or any relevant field of study
  • An MBA would be highly advantageous
  • At least 15 years of experience within the property development industry
  • At least eight years of experience in a leadership capacity and managing a large team
  • Prior end-to-end project planning and execution of large mixed development projects would be ideal
  • Demonstrable competency in strategic planning and business development
  • Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills.
  • Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving
