Business Analyst ; Health Insurance
Job description
Well known insurance company are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Business Analyst to support the development and launch of new health insurance products, including International Private Medical Insurance (IPMI) and localized plans.
The ideal candidate will work cross-functionally to gather, define, and document business and system requirements, and act as the liaison between internal stakeholders, external vendors, and technical teams to ensure timely and successful product delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Launch & Development:
- Collaborate with product managers and marketing to design and deliver new health insurance products based on market research and business goals.
- Analyse competitor offerings, regulatory requirements, and market gaps to provide data-driven product recommendations.
- Assist in developing pricing structures, benefit design, and underwriting logic.
Requirements Gathering & Analysis:
- Gather, analyse, and document business requirements from internal stakeholders (e.g., claims, underwriting, operations, compliance, IT).
- Translate business needs into detailed functional and non-functional requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Prepare process flows, use cases, and gap analyses to support system design and decision-making.
Stakeholder & Vendor Coordination:
- Facilitate workshops and meetings with internal teams and third-party vendors (e.g., system providers, TPAs) to define system interfaces and integration points.
- Work closely with IT and developers to ensure that system builds align with requirements and timelines.
- Support UAT planning and execution by defining test scenarios and coordinating test efforts.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Create and maintain detailed documentation, including BRDs, FRDs, user manuals, and training guides.
- Track progress of requirement delivery and provide regular updates to project managers and leadership.
- Monitor and report on KPIs post-launch to evaluate product performance and support continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, Health Sciences, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 3-5 years' experience as a business analyst, preferably in the health insurance or healthcare sector.
- Strong understanding of health insurance products, policy administration systems, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience with Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and vendor coordination skills.
- Proficient in tools like JIRA, Confluence, MS Visio, Excel, and PowerPoint.
