AVP, IFRS 17 Valuation (Actuarial)

Job description

Job Responsibilities:

  • Leading and overseeing the preparation of IFRS 17 reports for both the parallel run year and regular reporting.
  • Driving the design and construction of the Prophet model framework for IFRS 17 calculations, particularly focusing on reinsurance treaty modeling.
  • Managing end-to-end User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for Day 2 enhancements, encompassing reinsurance reporting.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to define requirements for enhancing valuation files to incorporate reinsurance-related data.
  • Supervising the maintenance of TVoG parameters for regular IFRS 17 reporting across various product lines.
  • Assuming responsibility for evaluating business and regulatory compliance risks and implementing appropriate risk mitigation measures.
  • Staying informed about industry trends in regulatory compliance, emerging risks, and technologies to effectively safeguard the company.
  • Identifying and communicating potential concerns or risks while actively promoting best practices in risk management.
  • Fulfilling other associated duties.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, or Actuarial Studies.
  • Professional Qualifications: Completion of relevant actuarial exams from accredited institutions such as the Faculty of Actuaries, Scotland, Institute of Actuaries, England, Institute of Actuaries, Australia, and Society of Actuaries, US.
  • Experience: Over 7 years of experience in actuarial roles.
  • Communication Skills: Proficient in both written and verbal communication.
  • Technical Skills: Competent in various computer applications including Macro, Visual Basic, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Prophet Expertise: Proficient in product modeling and projection using Prophet software.
  • Key Knowledge: Strong understanding of actuarial principles, the company's financial and market position, operational procedures, regulations, and IFRS 17 reporting requirements.
  • Key Competencies: Demonstrated expertise in actuarial principles and Prophet application, analytical skills, financial accounting and reporting, attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, effective communication, teamwork, integrity, adaptability, and customer service orientation.
  • Personal Attributes: Possesses a high level of integrity, accountability, positive attitude towards teamwork, initiative to drive improvements, and adaptability to change
