Assistant Manager/Manager - Actuarial (Valuation)

• Lead Valuation Processes: Oversee the month-end valuation of insurance liabilities, ensuring accurate internal financial reporting. Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Pricing, Business Intelligence, Underwriting, Finance, and Risk.
• Risk Management: Identify and anticipate potential risks within the business, ensuring timely escalation to key stakeholders. Support the Chief Actuary with strategic insights and impactful decision-making.
• Team Leadership and Development: Manage and mentor a team of actuaries, fostering a collaborative environment. Lead the development of financial models and analysis of key reports to support business objectives.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all valuation processes comply with regulatory requirements and industry standards. Stay updated with developments in financial and insurance legislation.
• Data Analysis and Reporting: Conduct complex risk analyses and projections. Present findings and recommendations to senior management. Use statistical modeling to forecast future risks and costs.
• Reserving: Determine reserves for the insurance company to ensure it has sufficient funds to cover future claims and expenses. This involves calculating future costs for time periods that have already passed.
• Capital Modeling: Perform dynamic capital adequacy testing (DCAT) to assess the company's reserves in adverse scenarios. This includes evaluating the company's overall capital needs to ensure it can continue operating under various risk conditions.
• Assumption Management: Update and maintain assumptions used in valuation models to ensure accuracy and relevance. Conduct assumption studies and collaborate with other departments to gather necessary data.
