Assistant Manager, Actuarial - Valuation (IFRS17)

Job description

PURPOSE

Assist in generating IFRS 17 results for business units in line with Group policies and controls, and support actuarial initiatives/projects as needed by the Group Actuarial and BUs.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Contribute to the generation of IFRS 17 results by:

  • Providing support for BAU IFRS 17 CSM production runs based on Group Office requirements, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Conducting consistency and completeness checks on data from BUs.
  • Performing IFRS 17 model runs and validation checks to confirm data accuracy and process integrity.
  • Promptly escalating issues or findings to the manager.
  • Ensuring all tasks adhere to Group policies, including process documentation and controls.
  • Assisting in investigating issues encountered during the runs.
  • Aiding in filling out validation and result templates, forms, and reports for manager and BU review.
  • Supporting ad-hoc run requests from Group Actuarial or BUs during result production.
  • Assisting in data preparation and other processes related to IFRS 17 results generation as requested by BUs.
  • Supporting actuarial initiatives/projects from Group Actuarial or BUs.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

  • Effectiveness, timeliness, and accuracy of operational support.
  • Value added to local business units.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

  • Up to 3 years of experience in actuarial functions within the insurance industry.
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Actuarial Science or a related Mathematics/Statistics field.
  • Good progress in internationally recognized actuarial professional examinations.

KNOWLEDGE & TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Proficient in Prophet modeling and coding.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Solid understanding of actuarial valuation processes and IFRS 17.
  • Preferred: Good Python skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in English, both spoken and written.
