Assistant HR Manager

About Our Client

Our client is a growing company within the construction services industry, and as part of their expansion they are seeking for a Assistant HR Manager to join their team. In this role, you'd be supporting the organisation's overall HR operations.

Key Responsibilities

    • Support day‑to‑day HR operations within the construction workforce, ensuring accurate execution of HR processes across recruitment, onboarding, attendance, payroll inputs, and employee records management.
    • Manage and advise on employee relations and industrial relations matters, including handling disciplinary issues, investigations, grievance cases, and coordination with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with labour and statutory requirements.
    • Conduct compensation reviews and salary benchmarking exercises, providing data‑driven recommendations to maintain competitiveness and support organisational budgeting and workforce planning.
    • Coordinate and implement performance management activities, supporting line managers through goal‑setting, mid‑cycle reviews, and year‑end evaluations to reinforce fair and consistent performance standards.
    • Partner with project sites and business leaders, offering guidance on HR policies, workforce challenges, manpower deployment, and HR risk mitigation across various construction projects.
    • Contribute to HR process improvements, supporting initiatives in policy updates, SOP enhancement, digitalisation, and strengthening HR service delivery across the organisation.

Requirements

  • Holds a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Administration, or similar.
  • Comes with around 4 - 5 years of HR experience, especially with experience in IR and performance management.
  • Prior experience within construction, property development, engineering services, or similar would be an added advantage.
  • Possess own transport and able to travel outstation occasionally for site visits.
  • Proven stakeholder management and communication skills, with proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
