Job description
Our client is a German multinational sportswear brand, known for designing and manufacturing athletic and casual footwear, apparel, and accessories, and is recognized as one of the largest sportswear company in the world. They are looking for a Area Manager to join their team!
Job description:
- Strategically manage and promote a high-performance sales culture across assigned districts to achieve or exceed sales, KPIs, and profitability goals.
- Drive retail P&L and KPI targets, identifying opportunities to improve store productivity (e.g. Conversion Rate, UPT, ATV, Sales per hour/sqm).
- Implement and monitor SMART targets and operational plans to increase comp sales across stores.
- Lead operational excellence by adopting global/regional tools and standards, ensuring compliance with international retail policies.
- Oversee store openings, closings, relocations, upgrades, inventory management, and staff scheduling to meet budget and timelines.
- Manage store inventories, loss prevention, and visual merchandising in line with global guidelines.
- Coach and develop Area and Store Managers, ensuring capabilities align with global standards.
- Execute customer experience programs and retail training initiatives in collaboration with the Country Retail Trainer.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration with Retail Training, Marketing, Merchandising, and E-Commerce teams.
- Drive process improvements and operational best practices across channels.
- Lead and develop strong store management teams, identifying talent for succession planning and supporting staff retention.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree with strong numerical understanding.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in retail operations and 2-3 years in a similar role with a global brand (preferably in apparel/footwear/sports/outdoor). Minimum 2 years of managerial experience, including multi-store management.
- IT Skills: Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and email systems.
- Language: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Core Competencies: Analytical thinking, customer and people focus, results-driven, structured and organized.
- Functional Skills: Strong numerical and P&L analysis skills, policy/procedure writing, time management, interpersonal and coaching abilities.
