Technical Manager

My client is a well renowned building materials manufacturer. They are looking for a Technical Manager due to rapid product expansion.

This role is critical in ensuring accurate implementation, technical guidance, and adherence to industry standards across all projects. A strong background in construction materials, engineering principles, and system applications is essential to guarantee the correct and efficient use of the company's products in the market.

Acting as a key link between customers, sales, R&D, and operations, the Technical Manager ensures that technical solutions meet market requirements. The role also involves driving product innovation, conducting compliance testing for exports, and delivering hands-on training to clients and contractors.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Support & System Implementation

  • Ensure proper installation of SolidPanel IBS and Fibre Cement Board systems.

  • Provide technical training and demos for customers and contractors.

  • Address technical queries and resolve installation issues.

• Testing & Export Compliance

  • Overseeing or managing the testing of products to ensure compliance with regulatory standards in different export markets.

  • Collaborating with certification bodies and testing labs to secure required approvals.

• Customer & Cross-Department Collaboration

  • Serving as the technical point of contact between company and customers to ensure technical requirements are met.

  • Assisting sales and marketing teams by offering technical expertise, presentations, and product training.

  • Working closely with production teams to address manufacturing issues affecting product performance.

• Site Audits, Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Conduct site inspections to verify correct product usage.

  • Implement quality control and recommend improvements.

  • Ensure compliance with building codes and export standards.

• Product Development & Enhancement

  • Collaborate with R&D and Operations to improve product design and performance.

  • Gather market feedback to guide product improvements.

• Product Quality & Performance

  • Work with R&D and Operations to maintain product consistency and address defects.

• Installation & Application

  • Provide training, clear manuals, and site audits to ensure proper installation.

• Supply Chain & Logistics

  • Manage supplier alternatives, monitor trade policies, and optimize inventory.

• Market Competition & Innovation

  • Innovate with R&D, stay updated on market trends, and enhance technical support.

  • Strengthen legal and warranty policies to minimize liabilities.

Requirement

• Experience with IBS, building materials, or construction systems is a valuable asset.

• Solid knowledge of engineering drawings, CAD software, and structural analysis.

• Open to traveling for site inspections and customer training.

• Capable of identifying and resolving technical issues on-site.
