Technical Analyst

Job description

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented L1 Support Engineer to provide first-level technical support for Java-based applications running on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments. The ideal candidate will have foundational knowledge in Java application troubleshooting, Linux system usage, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

Application Support

  • Provide L1 support for Java-based applications, including basic issue triage, log analysis, and incident documentation.
  • Monitor application health, job executions, and system alerts.
  • Escalate unresolved or complex issues to L2/L3 teams with clear, detailed notes.

Linux / RHEL Support

  • Perform basic Linux administration tasks (file operations, process monitoring, service restarts, permissions).
  • Use command-line tools to collect logs, monitor system performance, and verify application status.
  • Support deployments or releases as per standard procedures.

Incident & Service Management

  • Respond to support tickets within SLA timelines.
  • Document issues, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions in the ticketing system.
  • Communicate clearly with users, stakeholders, and internal teams on incident status.

Monitoring & Maintenance

  • Monitor infrastructure and applications using tools such as Nagios, Grafana, Splunk, or similar (if applicable).
  • Perform proactive health checks and report anomalies.
  • Assist with routine maintenance activities.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in L1 technical support or application support.
  • Basic understanding of Java applications, JVM concepts, and log files.
  • Hands-on experience using Linux Red Hat (RHEL), including command-line operations.
  • Knowledge of ticketing tools (ServiceNow, JIRA, Remedy, etc.).
  • Experience in brokerage/trading system is an added advantage
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Good communication and customer-service orientation.
