Team Manager - Software Engineering

About our client:

Our client is a Germany‑headquartered multinational company specialising in advanced sealing technologies, serving a wide range of global industries with high‑performance, precision‑engineered solutions. With a strong reputation for innovation, engineering excellence, and product reliability, the company continues to expand its digital and software capabilities to support modern industrial operations. Based in their Kuala Lumpur office, they are now looking to hire an experienced Team Manager - Software Engineering to lead and drive the development of mission‑critical software solutions that support their global sealing technology operations.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage and grow a team of Software Engineers for MS Power Platform
  • Act as Scrum Master: manage sprints, stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog grooming
  • Own stakeholder communication across time zones, ensuring alignment and satisfaction
  • Establish and moderate Product Owner Community to clearly understand business requirements
  • Drive the product roadmap and project portfolio in collaboration with internal customers
  • Oversees project management to guarantee top-quality outcomes, implementing Azure DevOps and adhering to Agile methodologies.
  • Partner with the Technical Lead to define and document solution architecture, development standards, and technical guidelines
  • Establish and maintain clear documentation for team processes, governance models, and delivery frameworks
  • Foster a motivated, high-performing, and collaborative team culture
  • Support bridging short-term resource constraints by contributing hands-on to delivery or coordination tasks when capacity allows

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years in software/IT Project Management, with 2+ years in leadership role
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Power Platform (PowerApps, Power Automate, Power BI)
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies (Scrum Master certification is a plus)
  • Proficiency in Azure DevOps and familiarity with low-code/no-code development
  • Willingness to obtain Microsoft PL-200 certification within 3 months of joining
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across cultures and time zones

Preferred Skills:

  • Exposure to React or modern web development frameworks
  • Experience integrating low-code with traditional software development
  • Strong presentation skills; ability to clearly communicate complex topics to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Methods and Experience in analyzing business needs and translating into technical requirements
  • Background in building custom business applications in complex domains
