Staff Process Engineer

Job description

Our client is a global semiconductor company. Due to rapid expansion, they are seeking a Staff Process Engineer to lead a team of junior engineers.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the handling of abnormal lot disposition, determine failure analysis methods, analyze results, and make informed decisions, including fostering effective communication with customers regarding lot processing to mitigate quality risks for shipments.
  • Support initiatives for improving process productivity and efficiency.
  • Lead the manufacturing team in conducting internal and external audits, responding to relevant departments, and coordinating with other departments for issue resolution.
  • Establish, enhance, and uphold manufacturing operational standards of operation (SOPs) to minimize or eliminate operational discrepancies between shifts, thereby enhancing manufacturing stability.
  • Oversee Low Volume Manufacturing (LVM) for any new changes introduced to the manufacturing line, including preparing for initial implementation to mitigate risks related to quality and manufacturability.
  • Enhance and maintain Process Flow, Control Plans, and FMEA, with inputs from risk management, improvement efforts, claims, audit findings, and internal processes.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical, electronics, manufacturing engineering, materials engineering, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 10 years of semiconductor process knowledge in manufacturing/production.
  • Experience and understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and ISO/IATF standards.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, preferably in Assembly processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of confidently presenting ideas, concepts, data, and plans at team meetings and executive reviews.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Fundamental knowledge of overall semiconductor assembly processes and familiarity with IATF16949 requirements.
  • Proficiency and experience in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and ISO/IATF standards.
  • A collaborative team player with strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, statistical data analysis skills, and experience with Design of Experiments (DOE) would be advantageous.
