Sommelier

Role Summary
You will oversee the restaurant's wine program, crafting a carefully selected wine list that complements the menu and enhances guest experiences. Your duties include wine selection, pairing advice, staff education, inventory management, and maintaining high service standards.

Main Responsibilities

• Create and update a diverse wine list that balances quality and budget considerations.
  
• Source wines from various regions and stay informed about new vintages and industry trends.
  
• Advise guests on wine choices and ideal pairings to enrich their dining experience.
  
• Provide ongoing wine training and guidance to the front-of-house team.
  
• Manage wine stock levels, ordering processes, and vendor communications.
  
• Ensure all wines are stored and handled appropriately to preserve quality.
  
• Boost wine sales through knowledgeable recommendations and pairing expertise.
  
• Track sales data and adjust the wine offerings to maximize profitability.
  

Qualifications & Skills

• Recognized sommelier certification (e.g., WSET, Court of Master Sommeliers).
  
• Extensive knowledge of international wine regions, grape varieties, and vintages.
  
• Experience within fine dining or upscale hospitality preferred.
  
• Strong palate and sensory assessment abilities.
  
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  
• Proven ability to handle inventory and supplier relationships effectively.
  
• Able to multitask and stay composed in a busy environment.
  
• Bar management experience is an added advantage.
  
• Passionate about wine, culinary arts, and exceptional hospitality.
