Senior Web Developer (Front end)

About our client:

Our client is a Singapore‑headquartered technology company with a strong presence in Kuala Lumpur, specialising in custom software development and end‑to‑end project delivery across the ASEAN region. Working closely with regional enterprises, they design and build scalable, high‑quality web and digital solutions that support diverse business needs. As part of their continued growth, the team is now looking to hire an experienced Senior Web Developer to play a key role in delivering modern, user‑centric applications while contributing to technical excellence and best practices across regional projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain modern web applications using React.js.
  • Own features end-to-end, from technical planning through delivery and post-release support.
  • Build and maintain real-time features using WebSockets / IO for live updates and event-driven workflows.
  • Ensure seamless integration between frontend interfaces and backend services/APIs.
  • Understand the concept of basic web infrastructure including Nginx, routing, and deployment workflows.
  • Participate in code reviews and uphold high engineering standards for scalability and maintainability.
  • Identify technical risks early, propose solutions proactively, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to raising overall team performance.
  • Operate effectively in a remote/hybrid setup with strong discipline, ownership, and communication.


Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of professional experience in web development (frontend).
  • Strong proficiency in React.js and modern JavaScript/TypeScript practices.
  • Maintain a legacy web using nodejs.
  • Hands-on experience with WebSocket-based development (e.g., IO, real-time event-driven systems).
  • Familiarity with DevOps fundamentals including Nginx configuration, domain routing, reverse proxies, and deployment workflows.
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, system architecture, and performance optimization.
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a remote or hybrid environment


Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with SSR frameworks (e.g., Next.js, Nuxt.js)
  • Familiarity with mobile-first design or PWA concepts
  • Knowledge of frontend testing tools (e.g., Jest, Cypress)
  • Exposure to content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Headless CMS)
  • Comfortable reading Mandarin documentation or handling localized Chinese content
