Senior System Support Specialist

Our client is a corporation that manages and supports remote infrastructure for various nations as well as operates and maintains the worldwide hosting infrastructure and its components within the ITS data centres.

Key objectives

  • To maintain the infrastructure operational every day of the year.
  • To guarantee that the organisation has the skills and expertise necessary to deliver first- and second-level infrastructure support.

Key responsibilities:

  • Make sure that the delivery of the applications and the support for them follows the ITS Process and the IT Operational Standards.
  • Make that the production/development environments' implementation of new services and updates to existing services follow the plans and demands for customer projects.
  • Keep an eye on the future of server and/or software architecture provision to guarantee prompt server replacement while taking appropriate account of budgetary and technological concerns.
  • Pre-sales guidance and consultancy on technical architecture and manufacturing standards are provided.

To qualify an individual must possess:

  • Oracle, PostgresDB, or CosmoDB database management experience of at least six years.
  • Experience configuring application databases, working with application support teams to troubleshoot, tune, and optimise database issues.
  • To increase system availability through proactive measures to prevent Database outages and performance problems, paying special attention to maintenance services for all the infrastructure that the Operations Centre uses.
