Senior Software Engineer (SRE)

A well estalished financial institution is looking for Software Developer who has experience working on SRE

Day to day task :

• Implement consistent Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices across application, infrastructure, and IT security teams.
• Establish and operationalize SRE teams focused on specific application, infrastructure, and IT security areas.
• Train and empower application and infrastructure support teams in SRE methodologies.
• Manage application monitoring tools, such as Dynatrace, and collaborate with vendors to ensure uniform use of these tools across all teams.
• Develop internal expertise in application monitoring tools to support and enhance observability as technology and business needs evolve.
• Promote the effective use of application monitoring tools among all application and infrastructure support teams.
• Assist in detailed analysis and troubleshooting of technical issues in critical and high-priority applications, as well as their supporting infrastructure and IT security components, both during normal operations and incidents/system downtimes.
• Foster a strong culture of system resilience and focus on non-functional requirements.
• Support, validate, and approve SRE-related non-functional requirements during project implementation.
• Continuously refine and enhance SRE practices in response to changes in the business and technology landscape.
• Stay updated on issues and challenges related to system reliability, identifying strategic or structural adjustments needed for improvement.
• Strengthen teamwork and collaboration between SRE, application, IT infrastructure, and other relevant stakeholders within Group Technology.
• Encourage continuous learning and innovation within the team.
• Build strategic and mutually beneficial relationships with technology solution partners and service providers to enhance the Group's capabilities.

Key Requirements :

• Expertise in Application Design and Development: Highly skilled in application design and development, with proficiency in key programming languages such as Java, .NET, Python, etc., and the ability to develop highly efficient and high-performing applications.

• Comprehensive Knowledge of Software Stacks: Deep understanding of all software components, including web servers, application servers, virtual machines, containers, databases, and operating systems, with the capability to optimize and understand the role each component plays in delivering resilient applications.

• Experience with Non-Functional Requirements: Extensive experience in designing and implementing non-functional requirements such as High Availability (both hardware and software), Disaster Recovery, Archiving, Housekeeping, and Backup and Recovery.

• SRE Practices Expertise: Strong experience and appreciation for Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices, including Service Level Objectives (SLOs), Service Level Indicators (SLIs), system observability, toil elimination, and automation.

• Strong Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and drive a strong SRE culture.
