Senior IBM system Engineer

Are you a seasoned IBM Power and AIX/Linux systems expert? Step into a pivotal role managing mission-critical infrastructure behind our global SAP landscape. You'll join a highly technical, hands-on infrastructure team that maintains and optimises server platforms, storage appliances, and enterprise scheduling systems. With over 150 LPARs running on IBM Power and supporting core business applications, your work will be essential in ensuring system resilience, performance, and scalability.

Your Role:

• Administer and support IBM Power hardware, AIX, and Linux (Red Hat & SUSE)
• Manage HMC, LPAR, and VIOS configurations and upgrades
• Troubleshoot and maintain Brocade SAN switches and fibre connectivity
• Provision and manage IBM storage systems, snapshots, and replication
• Maintain IBM Workload Scheduler and support HADR solutions
• Handle IBM Spectrum Protect and ALMS backup platforms
• Perform capacity planning, DR testing, and system performance tuning using tools like LPAR2RRD
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and key vendors

Your Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years experience with IBM Power hardware and AIX/Linux system administration
• Hands-on expertise with HMC, VIOS, Brocade SAN, and IBM storage provisioning
• Strong scripting skills in ksh and bash
• Deep knowledge of role-based access, patching, OS upgrades, and troubleshooting
• IBM Workload Scheduler experience (3-5 years minimum)
• Proven ability in backup/restore systems including IBM Spectrum Protect
