Senior Esports Business Development Manager

Job description

Our client is a Shanghai company within the gaming, digital entertainment, and youth‑focused media ecosystem. They are seeking an experienced Senior Business Development Manager to spearhead strategic growth, expand revenue pipelines, and strengthen long-term partnerships. This role suits a commercially driven professional with strong exposure to partnerships, media sales, and integrated marketing solutions.

  1. A) Strategic New Business Development
  • Identify, build, and manage key alliances to drive revenue generation and overall market expansion.
  • Research, outreach, and acquire new strategic partners, including businesses, brands, technology platforms, and content collaborators.
  • Drive market penetration into new sectors across Malaysia, particularly non-endemic industries such as FMCG, Finance, and Automotive, focusing on brands aiming to reach youth segments.
  • Develop and deliver tailored, consultative proposals highlighting platform value and partnership impact.
  1. B) Hybrid Sales & Marketing
  • Serve as the primary liaison between clients and internal teams to ensure alignment and seamless execution.
  • Oversee campaign delivery, interpret performance insights, and adjust activation strategies when necessary.
  • Build go‑to‑market strategies for new events, product enhancements, or ecosystem expansions.
  • Demonstrate consistent sales achievements and revenue delivery.
  • Analyse business needs and articulate strong marketing or sponsorship cases to potential partners.
  1. C) Account Management & Retention
  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with sponsors, ensuring consistent engagement and satisfaction.
  • Provide clients with regular performance reviews, while identifying organic upsell or cross‑sell opportunities.
  • Build relationships with media agencies, creative agencies, and ecosystem partners to broaden client pipelines.
  • Attend relevant industry and networking events to enhance visibility and strengthen connections.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 8+ years in partnerships, media sales, or agency account management. Experience in integrated marketing solutions is an added advantage.
  • Self-Motivated: Ambitious, partnership-driven, and focused on measurable performance.
  • Languages: Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin is a plus.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with evolving market demands.
