Senior Database Administrator (Software Company)

About our client:
We are partnering with a globally reputable software company that is fast-paced and supporting various clients. They are currently on the hunt for a reputable Database Administrator that can design and tune databases according to needs to ensure smooth process flows.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the health, stability, and tuning of Oracle database environments to maintain high availability and strong performance.
  • Collaborate closely with project teams to architect and deliver robust, scalable systems supported by well‑designed database structures and efficient SQL development.
  • Diagnose and address performance bottlenecks across applications, coordinating resolutions with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Drive long‑term capacity planning and implement effective data retention, archiving, and cleanup processes to keep databases running efficiently.
  • Provide technical direction, manage workloads, and support the growth and effectiveness of the Database Administration team.

Skills & Experiences required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
  • 5-7 years of hands‑on experience working with Oracle databases or similar platforms.
  • Strong understanding of Oracle architecture, advanced SQL/PLSQL tuning, and in‑depth troubleshooting.
  • Practical experience using diagnostic tools such as AWR, ASH, SQL report analysis, or similar utilities.
  • Demonstrated capability in designing scalable database solutions and implementing strategies for capacity management, archiving, and purging.
  • Ability and willingness to travel when necessary.

Some good to haves:

  • Background in installing, monitoring, and optimizing database systems using AWR or comparable performance tools.
  • Advanced skills in interpreting SQL execution plans and enhancing complex queries.
  • Experience leading database-focused initiatives or managing DBA teams.
