Senior Continuous Improvement & Industry 4.0 Manager

An established automotive parts manufacturer is looking for a Senior Continuous Improvement & Industry 4.0 Manager to drive productivity and efficiency in manufacturing processes while leading the implementation of Industry 4.0 practices. This role involves identifying opportunities for improvement, implementing best practices, and leading initiatives to enhance operational performance and quality. This role reports directly to the COO.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the Production Engineering team in creating and deploying advanced tools and jigs to boost productivity and efficiency in plastic injection manufacturing
• Champion initiatives to implement lean manufacturing principles and steer the company towards Industry 4.0 transformation
• Optimize processes and automate tasks to strategically reduce manpower while increasing productivity and throughput
• Leverage PLC systems and programming expertise to enhance automation processes and streamline production operations
• Collaborate with other departments to identify improvement opportunities and implement innovative solutions
• Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth in production engineering

Key Requirements:

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering or related field of study
• Minimum 10 years' of experience in the plastic injection moulding industry
• Strong expertise in developing tools and jigs to enhance productivity in plastic injection manufacturing
• Automotive manufacturing experience would be highly preferable
• Proven track record in lean manufacturing and a vision for leading the company towards Industry 4.0 implementation
• Ability to strategically reduce manpower through process optimization and automation, while increasing productivity and throughput
• Knowledge and experience in Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems, with programming skills considered an advantage
• Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence (AI) or previous experience in handling robots is highly desirable
• Excellent technical skills and the ability to effectively lead a team of production engineers
• Strong negotiation skills to request the right resources and solutions from suppliers, ensuring optimal production processes
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, management and collaborative skills
• Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills
• Ability to look at situations from several points of view
