Senior Big Data Engineer (Scala)

A global software company specializing in using advanced data analytics and artificial intelligence to enable organizations to make smarter, data-driven decisions. Focuses on solving challenges related to data integration, entity resolution, and network analytics across various industries, including financial services, insurance, and the public sector.





Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop robust, fault-tolerant, and efficient code for production-level data processing systems.
  • Configure and deploy software using tools like Spark, Hadoop, Scala, and Elasticsearch across cloud platforms such as Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, and AWS.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, simplifying technical concepts for non-technical audiences to support key decision-making.
  • Collaborate with solution architects and R&D engineers to address complex big data challenges and establish effective solutions.
  • Promote knowledge sharing and ensure adherence to best practices in developing and deploying data-driven solutions.


Candidate Profile:

  • Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in data engineering or equivalent technical roles.
  • Proficient in programming languages like Scala with a focus on transferable engineering principles.
  • Skilled in building and deploying stable, high-quality production-level data processing batch systems, with hands-on experience in the Hadoop framework.
  • Familiarity with testing frameworks (e.g., ScalaTest) and clear understanding of test types like unit and integration testing.
